ClipGuard does not read, store, or transmit the contents of your clipboard. It only lets you allow or deny other apps’ clipboard read/write access.
This policy describes what ClipGuard (“the app”, package name com.clipguard.app) collects, why, and how to contact us. The developer account on Google Play is listed as ClipGuard.
1. What the app does
ClipGuard is an Android privacy tool. After you start its privileged service (via wireless debugging, ADB, or root), you can toggle each launchable app’s READ_CLIPBOARD and WRITE_CLIPBOARD app-ops. The app lists apps you can launch; it does not request the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission.
2. Data we do not collect
- Clipboard contents (text, images, or anything else copied)
- Account, name, email, or phone from the app itself (there is no in-app login)
- Precise or approximate location
- Contacts, photos, files, SMS, or call logs
- A list of installed apps sent off-device — the app list stays on your phone
3. Data that may be collected
Advertising ID (free version only)
The free version shows Google AdMob banner ads. AdMob may collect your device’s Advertising ID and standard ad-serving data (for example IP address, device and app identifiers, coarse location derived from IP, and interaction with ads) to show and measure ads. This data is processed by Google according to the Google Privacy Policy and AdMob guidance.
If you buy the one-time in-app product remove_ads, the ads SDK is not initialised and ClipGuard does not read the Advertising ID on that device.
Google Play Billing
Purchases are processed by Google Play. ClipGuard does not receive or store your payment card details. Google’s handling of purchase data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Crash and diagnostics
ClipGuard does not include a third-party crash reporter. Android or Google Play may collect standard crash and performance data if you have opted in at the system or Play level.
4. How data is shared
Advertising data from the free version is shared with Google (AdMob) for advertising. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share clipboard contents because we never have them.
5. Permissions the app uses
INTERNET— ads (free version) and starting the service over wireless debuggingPOST_NOTIFICATIONS— pairing and service statusFOREGROUND_SERVICE/RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED— keep or restart the privileged serviceWRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS— granted only through ADB/root, used to start the service; not a Play-declared runtime permission- Advertising ID — used by AdMob on the free version
Clipboard access for other apps is changed locally through Android app-ops. ClipGuard itself does not hold a clipboard-read permission in order to inspect what you copy.
6. Children
ClipGuard is a developer/privacy utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Data retention and your choices
- On-device settings stay on your device until you clear app data or uninstall.
- You can reset your Advertising ID in Android settings, or buy
remove_adsso ads (and the ads SDK) are not used. - You can request deletion of any personal data we hold by emailing us. AdMob/Play data is controlled by Google; use Google’s ad and account tools for that copy.
8. Security
Network traffic for ads and billing uses HTTPS via Google’s SDKs. The privileged service runs on-device. Signing keys for app updates are held by the developer and are not embedded in the privacy-sensitive user data path.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Effective” date above. Material changes that affect Play-declared data practices will also be reflected in the Data safety section on Google Play.
